WATER RESCUE ASSIST TO LAKE SHORE

Oct 9- LCFC was dispatched to assist US Coast Guard Erie and Lake Shore FD on a water rescue in the channel of Walnut Creek Access around 11:30am. West Lake and West County Medic 3 were dispatched to assist. Water Rescue 579, Rescue Boat 578 and Squad 577 responded shortly after dispatch. LCFC units were ordered by Lake Shore command to launch R578 from Walnut Creek Access. R578 was launched and responded into the channel. Crews found a water filled vessel on the rocks along the access. The two occupants of the vessel were assisted by Lake Shore and West Lake crews up the rock embankment with the use of ropes and a ladder. Rescue 578 stood by in the channel during rescue operation and boat recovery by Lake Shore Towing. R578 also collected debris in the water. Once vessel was recovered R578 returned to launch and all units cleared. Fairview FD also assisted on scene.
