The Lake City Fire Company is 100% volunteer. Members
choose to join for many different reasons from wanting to give back to
their community to enjoying helping people. If you have ever wanted to
be a Firefighter, EMT, Fire Police, or Business member with the Lake
City Fire Company call and find out what we are all about and how to get
started.
As a member there
are some requirements: You must be at least 16 years old. You may not be a
member of any other Fire Department. Must be willing to complete a background
check. Must be willing to VOLUNTEER TIME!
As an active member
in the Lake City Fire Company you will be required to take courses which pertain
to the type of volunteer you want to be. For Example, An EMT must complete an
course which is over 140 hours long. The training has no cost to the member. If
you feel you may not have the time to complete such courses, you may want to
look into the business side of the fire company.
Being a member means you
must have commitment and dedication. Many members leave in the middle of dinner,
children's sporting events, family picnics, and many other non-convenient times
to answer the calls. Without this dedication less lives would be saved and
property would have more serious damage.
To volunteer means to
give time with out the expectation of anything in return. As a member of
L.C.F.C. you will get your reward through the thanks given by the community for
what we do.
Call the fire station at
774-4402 to see what its all about! Monday nights at 7:00pm are the weekly
drills and meeting.
